Today, someone called me claiming to be from BT's tech support, but his very thick Indian accent and the name he gave, John, made me suspicious straight away. He said there was a serious issue with my internet and asked me to switch on my PC so he could guide me through fixing it. Thankfully, I’d just read up on these kind of scams recently, so I questioned him a bit more. Turns out, he didn’t seem to understand anything about broadband or the Internet at all - pretty strange for a supposed BT expert. I quickly ended the call and thought I’d share this number here to warn others.
