At around 4:45 in the afternoon, this number rang me but as soon as I picked up, they just cut off. I tried ringing them back but ended up on their voicemail, which was all muffled and I couldn’t make out what they were saying.

I’m really annoyed the RSPB would team up with this pushy caller, who might well be some kind of scam. What’s really upsetting is how these businesses keep pestering people. At least if they posted you flyers, you could toss the paper in recycling, or if they stopped you in the street, you could just tell them to jog on, or maybe give 'em a right slap. But hiding behind a legit sounding charity? That just feels sneaky. I get they want to sell stuff (though they may be a scam), but most folks these days know how to check out what’s what without falling for cold calls.
