I got a call from some automated voice saying it was BT and they were going to disconnect my internet. Trouble is, I don’t even have BT as my provider. Eventually, I managed to speak to a person and just gave them rubbish answers to waste their time. After a bit, I asked the lady which company she was calling on behalf of, and she clearly had no idea. Then she just ended the call.

They might tell you that your computer is sending error alerts or that it’s infected with a virus. Best advice: don’t hand over any money to these people, as paying them won’t promise you get your data back or fix your PC at all.
