Thing is, a different number from the same company called me just a couple days before this.4 yearsI just got a call from this same number, pretty much like someone else mentioned recently. It was a woman offering some sort of safety or emergency gear aimed at people over fifty. Right from the start, she didn’t clearly say who she was working for. Then she asked me to write down a reference code with two letters followed by four numbers, which seemed a bit fishy. The whole thing felt like they were trying to sound official to make older people trust them. When she suggested their safety advisers could come round this afternoon for a chat, I quickly said no thanks and ended the call nicely. As I hung up, she was still trying to say that calling 999 or 101 wouldn’t keep my home safe when I’m out, which just sounded desperate to me.4 yearsThis morning around 10 o’clock, we got a ring at our place out in rural Cheshire. Unfortunately, we missed it and never caught who was calling or why.
