Right from the outset, she failed to clarify the name of the organisation she was with, which raised my suspicions. Then, the conversation took a strange turn when she asked me to jot down a reference number comprising six characters-two letters followed by four digits. This odd request felt like a convoluted ploy designed to lend an air of credibility to this unsolicited call, possibly aiming to mislead older individuals. I decided to cut the call short after they mentioned their "safety advisors" were nearby and would like to set up a meeting with me this afternoon. My response was a firm 'No, I’m not interested,' and just as I hung up, I could hear her saying that calling 999 or 101 wouldn’t safeguard my property while I was away.

This morning around 10 o'clock, we received a call here in our quiet corner of Cheshire. Unfortunately, we weren't quick enough to pick up, so we're left in the dark about what the call was about. Being a bit over the age of fifty, we don't really have any acquaintances in Preston, so it’s quite the mystery to us.
