She then tried to give me a direct number for police, fire and ambulance services. I just ended the call there. She spoke in a way that might easily fool older folks who aren’t so tech savvy or aware.4 yearsGot a call from a bloke claiming he was organising a scheme to provide alarm systems for folks over 50 in the area, supposedly connected with the police and fire services. He said it was due to rising crime in the neighbourhood. But after listening to his long spiel, it became obvious it was actually a service you’d have to pay for, and he wanted to set up a time for “someone from the team” to ring back. Seemed like a total scam to me. I ended the call, blocked the number, and let the local neighbourhood watch know about it.4 yearsThe person on the other end wanted to speak to my husband by name.
