Received a call from Preston, but the caller didn’t engage with my answering system, which has been adeptly designed to automatically return calls while offering call tracing and monitoring features. I attempted to ring back, but was met with a number unobtainable message. I suspect it might be a Telephone Preference Blocking service-a clever ruse to boost sales. It seems like Noddy and Big Ears will manage to get through this con without a hitch.

I tried calling the number, but as soon as I picked up, the line told me they weren’t able to take a message. Then, the call ended abruptly. It’s been a right nuisance, as I've been getting a fair few different numbers calling me over the past month, and I still can't figure out who's behind them.

I received a call where the chap was inquiring whether I was aware of any recent government guidelines, but he was rather vague about the specifics. I chose to put my phone down and let him mumble on for a while. Eventually, he lost interest and hung up.

Got a call from some scammer who left a voicemail, trying to freak out elderly folks by saying there’s this "new rule" where people are losing their homes to cover health costs. Then they said they could "fix it" for you. Total nonsense, just a dishonest trick. They really deserve to be put behind bars.

Somebody rang up claiming to be Jane, said she was from a firm selling medical alert devices and said they were based in Kent. She started asking questions about my health and seemed to have info on my existing conditions which I find quite odd since that stuff is supposed to be confidential. When I asked her how she got hold of that info, she suddenly ended the call. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call from a lady claiming to be from some windows and doors company. She said she knew I owned the property. I asked if I’d requested the call, but she just kept going, telling me they were doing work on my neighbours’ windows and conservatories in North Essex and liked to offer services to other homes nearby while they were at it. When I started to speak, she ignored me and carried on with the spiel. Seemed to me like one of those recorded messages that pauses for replies, but it didn’t handle me talking back - I guess it wasn’t programmed for that!
