11 yearsToday, I got a ring from this number claiming I'd been in some sort of accident. They kept saying they had all the papers ready, right there with them. I asked for the car's make, model, and registration, thinking they'd know it off by heart, but they couldn't give me any of those details. So I told them, if you really have all the info, why can't you just read me the reg number? Felt a bit fishy to me.11 yearsThey called me three times, but each time the answering machine came on, I just hung up. Funny enough, we’re an 01772 number too.11 yearsGot a call from this number just now but they ended it as soon as I picked up.11 yearsSo this number rang me twice yesterday, saying they were with the Motor Insurance Bureau, apparently a Government body, talking about a recent car accident I supposedly had. Thing is, I've had no accident at all, they’re definitely not connected to the MIB, and the MIB isn’t a government agency anyway. When I pushed back, the person got all nervous, but then someone else listening in started swearing and just cut the call off. Today I’ve had two calls again from them but just silence. I’ve complained to the ICO about yesterday’s calls and reported the silent ones to Ofcom. Since I’m in the 01772 area, I’d quite like to find out who they are for real - might even pay them a visit!Motor Insurance BureauMIBGovernmentICO11 yearsThis morning, I got a few calls from a local Preston number, but every time I said “Hello,” the line just went dead. It’s so frustrating! The number has the 01772 code, same as mine, which is also from Preston. Just weird behaviour all round.Preston11 yearsI’ve gotten calls from this number on my phone multiple times today, and everytime I answer, there’s nobody on the other end. It’s happened at least three times now!Submit Your Own Report (01772 924671)
