When I told them I hadn't sponsored anything last year, they just cut off. Definitely felt like a scam. Anyone else get calls like this?

I just got a call asking for £189 towards some anti-bullying book they say I approved of, but I honestly don’t remember agreeing to back anything like that. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

They called asking for payment to support a book sponsorship. They wanted me to hand over £189 right there over the phone and told me if I paid immediately, they’d donate £30 to the NHS. I asked them to send the info by email but still haven’t received anything. When I tried ringing back, it just said no one was available. Feels dodgy to me, especially since I don’t recall agreeing to sponsor a book on anti-bullying for that much. Looks like a scam if you ask me.

They told me it was for a charity and that I had previously agreed to fund an anti-bullying book for £189. I honestly couldn’t remember any of that, but they insisted all the calls were recorded. I asked them to send me the recording or any proof that I actually said yes, but they just said someone would get back to me. So far, no one has called back.

I got a call from someone saying they wanted to discuss my internet service. But when I tried calling that number back from a different phone, it just said the number wasn't active anymore. Quite suspicious if you ask me.
