Here's a little trick to get rid of those pesky calls for good. First, dial the number back. When they pick up, say you’re “Detective Inspector from the police.” Ask them exactly how they got hold of your private number. Usually, the person on the line will try to connect you to their ‘manager’ - if not, insist on speaking to one. When the manager comes on, ask for their full name and date of birth (yeah, try that!). Now’s the fun part: throw in some made-up nonsense - like referencing fake “national security” laws or threatening legal action for breaching anti-terrorism laws - be creative! Make them sweat a bit. If you haven’t done it already, tell them to delete your number from their records outright. Then just hang up, grab your favourite drink, and enjoy knowing you’ve probably scared off these moocher callers for good!

They wanted to know if I had any documents related to it, and I told them I didn’t. That was the end of it.
