Got a call from someone claiming to be with the Windows support team earlier, offering to fix my computer remotely. Definitely a scam trying to get my credit card info.

This number has popped up a few times with missed calls. I answered when it rang again earlier today (4th February 2016) around 8.05, but nobody said anything on the other end - just silence. Honestly, it felt a bit creepy!

Some bloke with a funny accent rings up, says he's "John" and talks about my Windows OS. I wasn't having any of it and called him out as a scammer, then told him to jog on. Ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft, saying our computers were sending out alerts. When I asked which device it was, since we have a few, he said it didn’t make any difference. I then told him all our machines are Macs and don’t run Microsoft software, so how could that be? He just shrugged it off, admitting his info might be wrong. Heads up, these scammers often have your name and details, so watch out!
