For weeks they've been ringing non stop, trying to fish out personal info to chat with us. At one point, they even faked being from our electricity company. So cheeky, but thankfully we saw through it and didn’t fall for it.

Got two calls today from different numbers, both claiming to be about checking my energy tariff. When I asked for a callback number, they gave me a completely different one! They kept saying something about me being on an out-of-contract tariff and that I might get charged more by my supplier. The only info they had was my business name and where I’m based - probably grabbed it from my Facebook or website. Total spam, no thanks.

totally fake call, we run a genuine energy brokerage. they rang us and spun a huge load of rubbish trying to switch our energy provider. watch out, seriously watch out. bunch of con artists and scammers.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from some energy registration service, saying we’re being charged too much for our electricity. Since I always compare prices and switch deals after each contract ends, I didn’t buy it straight away. She sounded proper official and even mentioned Ofcom (pretty sure she meant Ofgem!) and named my current provider. When I told her I’m fine with my tariff and don’t need any info, she just hung up on me.

this woman with a northern accent called, saying something about our meter being on emergency credit and not set up right. sounded pretty convincing, but thankful i didn't share any details with her. watch out, folks.

In just a couple of days, we got two phone calls from some woman saying our British Gas energy deal had finished and we needed to sign up for some urgent contract. We run a business and know for certain our contract runs for another two years. Tried ringing the number back from my mobile but the call wouldn’t connect.

yesterday i got hit with a couple of dodgy calls. as soon as i realised it was prob a scam, i just ended the call quick. i put the first one on my blocked list, but then another came through from a number that was just a bit different, so i blocked that one too. why can’t these scammers be tracked down and punished? loads of older folks aren’t as clued up as me when it comes to tech and phone safety.
