Got a call from a bloke with a Filipino-ish accent saying he was from BT and said they’d had loads of complaints about my internet - the funny thing is, I don’t even have BT! I played along, going “Wow, seriously? Thanks a lot for the heads up!” The poor guy sounded like he was about to cry, kept saying “Thank you, thank you, you understand.” But once he caught me and my partner chuckling, his mood shifted fast and he went off calling me a bunch of rude names before slamming the phone down. Still cracking up about it now, honestly!

I’ve just had a rather curious call on my home phone from a gentleman speaking with an Asian/Filipino lilt. He introduced himself as a representative of BT, quite the polite fellow, and he went on to say that they’d received numerous reports regarding some internet woes I’m apparently experiencing (for the record, I’m not even a BT customer!). Quite taken aback, I replied with, “Blimey, that’s rather surprising! I appreciate you bringing this to my attention.” I could hear his delight practically radiating through the line as he continuously expressed his gratitude, saying, “Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you so very much. You truly understand!” Little did he know, my husband and I were stifling giggles in the background. The last thing I heard before he disconnected was a rather colourful outburst of “You f***ing b**ch, you f***ing b**ch.” I’m still chuckling about it! 🤣
