When I asked for proof via email, they just sent nonsense. Then, three weeks down the line, they rang again. I quickly told them I’m a tenant and never dealt with energy bills directly, so they couldn’t have my records. Their excuse? They’d supposedly taken over the business recently from another owner. I told them that I’m the one who actually set the company up and there isn’t any previous owner. After that, they muttered something and hung up on me. Thing is, they had all my details completely wrong - wrong supplier, wrong name, even the wrong address. When I pointed it out, they got nasty and started shouting at me. I just ended the call.
