When I pressed him for more details, he claimed his system was down, which meant he couldn't verify if I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Oddly enough, he stated he had my name, address, and phone number on paper. He insisted that if everything were functioning properly, it would indicate my TPS status. When I probed further about how he came into possession of my details, he suggested it might be from a form I filled out at a supermarket or something along those lines. I then questioned why his organisation was holding onto my information, to which he simply replied that he was just a canvasser and didn’t have that information. I remember receiving a call from this company in the past, but I can’t recall if I made a report about it. He provided me with an office number, 01772 379560, which is different from the one he used to contact me.
