Got a letter claiming I owe £5,000 and warning about bailiffs. The name on it wasn’t even mine and the debt definitely isn’t mine. The letter said I could sort the payment over the phone with the number they gave. I just sent it back, but it’s weird how the number they used seems to belong to a real company. How can scammers get hold of actual businesses’ contact details like that?

My daughter has been receiving calls from this number, claiming she has an outstanding debt from her previous employment. I've attempted to return the call, but unfortunately, I've had no luck getting through to anyone.
