Got a call from a woman claiming to be from BT technical support, but it wasn’t really BT. She threatened to “show me” and then just cut off my phone line. When I tried to ring someone else, the line was dead. Then she called back saying that proved she was legit. Turns out, they just keep the line open on their end so you can’t make outgoing calls. Pretty basic scam but it does the job.
