Could someone please enlighten me on the identity of the caller?

This number called our phone twice, so we decided to return the call, but strangely enough, no one responded on the other end. We gave it a mere five seconds before hanging up. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it seems like this might be someone we aren't acquainted with. Quite bizarre, really!

The chap on the other end seemed rather disoriented. Not long after, we saw that number pop up again, and it jogged our memories about some e-plus service. Quite the puzzling situation, really! Ich hatte heute auch einen Anruf von dieser Nummer, konnte jedoch leider nicht ans Telefon gehen. Ich habe keine Rückkehranruf getätigt, aber versucht, auf die Mailbox zuzugreifen, indem ich die 99 vorweg und die Hauptnummer eingegeben habe. Kurioserweise wurde mir gesagt, dass die Nummer gar nicht existiere. Ziemlich merkwürdig, wenn ihr mich fragt!

I’m absolutely losing the plot! This is now the tenth time I’ve been pestered by this number. If it genuinely is BASE, I’m ready to cancel my account. Are they seriously attempting to sidestep the economic crisis by bullying and deceiving their customers? It’s beyond ridiculous!

Honestly, this is definitely not Michael Jackson. Why on earth would he be ringing up random folks instead of his kids? Anyway, I've done a bit of digging, and it turns out this is a number belonging to Base. They typically call about promotions or to entice customers who are thinking of leaving with some offers to keep them on board. No need to fret, everyone-just ignore it! If it's really bothering you, just sort it out with Base's customer service. Just saying!

Bei dieser Nummer landet man anscheinend bei der Hotline, vermutlich von BASE, da ich selbst einen Vertrag bei ihnen habe. Das Seltsame daran ist, dass der Anruf aus Sicht der BASE-Kunden eigentlich kostenfrei sein sollte, andererseits verursacht die Hotline selbst jedoch Gebühren! Ich habe bereits eine E-Mail und ein Fax an BASE geschickt, um die Rückerstattung der ungewollten Kosten zu beantragen. Bisher habe ich keinerlei Rückmeldung erhalten, ausser dass ich erneut versucht habe, diese Nummer zu erreichen, aber es scheint, als wäre da niemand, der ans Telefon geht, wenn man endlich mal einen Anruf abgibt.

It’s payback time, but only tackle this when you’ve got a minute and it won’t cost you a penny to call those landlines. These callers might start to get a taste of their own medicine-imagine if more of us rang them up and went silent! We could very well send those cheeky blighters packing. Diese Nummer versucht seit rund zwei Wochen, mich täglich zu erreichen. Es wird nie auf die Mailbox gesprochen und wenn ich abnehme, bleibt es ebenfalls still. Ich plane jedoch nicht, dort anzurufen.

Ich habe ebenfalls Anrufe von diesen 017712711xx Nummern erhalten. Ein Typ meinte, dass die bei Base eine Art Statistik führen, um nachzuvollziehen, wie viele Nutzer ihr Handy ein- oder ausschalten. Momentan habe ich vor, dem keinen Beachtung zu schenken. Sollte es jedoch im nächsten Monat weiterhin so sein, werde ich nicht zögern, eine Beschwerde an Base zu schicken. Auf keinen Fall sollte man kostenpflichtig darauf reagieren!

Mir geht es ganz ähnlich, habe das jetzt bereits zum sechsten Mal innerhalb von zwei Wochen! Woher wisst ihr eigentlich, dass das von Base stammt? Es könnte doch auch eine dieser unangenehmen Maschen sein, bei denen man später einen Rückruf erhält und dann behauptet, man hätte einen Telefonsexdienst kontaktiert. Und zack, schon wollen sie einem das Geld aus der Tasche ziehen!
