I received a rather peculiar call today, featuring a chap with a British accent who spoke in a rather stilted manner, almost as if he were reading off a script. He claimed it was BT calling to inform me that they would be cutting off both my phone and internet services today. The rather odd bit was that he instructed me to press 1 to connect with their technical support. Now, considering BT isn't even my internet provider and they usually don't make calls like that, I was wise enough to avoid pressing any buttons and promptly ended the call. What baffled me even more was that the number wasn’t withheld, as it often is with such calls-normally, I could call 1471 for details. It makes me wonder just how far some voice actors will go for a bit of work; clearly, they must know they're part of a dodgy scheme!
