I got a call from someone claiming to be Visa Secure saying a payment of £600 had been requested. They told me to press 1 if I hadn’t approved it. We did wonder about it since we made a strange payment a bit over £600 last week, but because we knew we’d allowed it, we didn’t press anything.

Got a call from this number claiming to be from Visa credit security, so I just ended the call straight away. Since I’d actually lost my wallet earlier this year, I figured I’d try ringing back, but the number didn’t show up anywhere. Seems like it’s most likely a scam to me.

This morning alone I’ve had two calls like this, and loads before as well. One came claiming to be from “Visa Secure” and the other said it was from both Visa and Mastercard’s security teams. The recorded message kept telling me that £600 had been charged overseas and asked me to “Press 1 to either block or approve the transaction”.
