On 29th March 2018 around 12.26 BST, I got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming he was from Virgin Media. He told me my current router was supposedly sending suspicious signals back to them and believed it might be infected with some kind of virus. He said they were sending me a replacement router due to this, and it would arrive on Friday - which turned out to be Good Friday. He then asked me to switch on one of my gadgets to connect it to the internet so he could help me set it up, although the new router hadn’t arrived yet. I mentioned that my son usually handles installing new tech, whereupon he said he’d call again tomorrow, which was Good Friday, and then hung up. When I tried calling the number back, it just said it wasn’t a recognised number.
