I was shouting hello but no one answered, just a dead silent line.

Like many others here, someone called saying they were from BT Openreach, claiming there was an issue with our broadband. I explained that BT isn't our provider and that we're on the TPS. I also firmly asked them not to ring us again.

Just got a call from this number again, some bloke claiming to be an IT engineer. It sounded really dodgy when he tried to get into my computer, especially using a weird phonetic alphabet that didn’t seem right at all! Totally raised my suspicions.

This morning I received a call from this number with a guy who said he was from BT Openreach, sounded like he had an Indian accent. He told me my broadband wasn’t stable and asked about the lights on my router, also if I was using a Windows PC. It all felt off, so I ignored him and have blocked the number now. Definitely a dodgy call.

Had a call from some bloke claiming to be from BT, sounded like one of those Indian call centres. When I told him I was about to head to work, he kept insisting he’d ring me back later. Honestly, I hadn’t come across a scam like that until now!

On Wed 22/11/2017 at about 14:41, i reckon those scam calls with spoofed numbers all come from that old indian call centre. They’ve probably lifted all their scripts or something, real obvious if you ask me!

I got a call from a bloke claiming he was with BT Openreach, saying there was an issue with my internet. He mentioned something about engineers working nearby causing the problem. Then he asked me how many lights were lit up on my router. He wanted me to log into my computer, assuming it was Windows. I told him I only use a Mac, no Windows here. The call wrapped up with him saying an engineer would need to come out to fix the slow internet. His accent was a strong Indian one, and it definitely sounded like it came from a call centre. Seemed pretty dodgy to me. The number was 01768 840 468.

Just went through the exact same thing mentioned earlier. After a bit, I told them I wasn’t interested and then ended up hanging up because it all seemed like nonsense to me.

i got a call from someone saying they were with bt openreach, saying there was a problem with my broadband cause my router was on the wrong frequency. they also said there were engineers working outside my house - which there definitely weren’t. i told them i wouldn’t keep talking unless an engineer showed up at my door. later, i checked with bt openreach and they confirmed it was a scam. apparently, they never call you unless you ask for it, and their official phone numbers always begin with 0800.
