A bloke with a foreign accent called himself Jack Harper and claimed to be from BT technical support. He said my internet had been hacked and that he could fix it by remotely accessing my computer. I asked him how I could trust him wasn’t the hacker instead, and he said he’d prove he wasn’t by showing me once he got access. When I asked for a number to call him back on, he kept making up excuses about why it was easier if he just got remote control straight away. I ended the call, but he phoned me back right after. I told him I knew he was just trying to scam me, and he hung up on me!

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent saying she was from BT's tech support. Seemed fishy straight away since she asked if I had a business phone number, which I reckon she’d already know if she was legit. Felt a bit dodgy and possibly risky, so I didn’t trust it.

I picked up the phone, but all I got was silence on the other end. There was a prolonged silence before they hung up!

Got a call from someone named Sarah claiming to be with BT. Pretty obvious it was a scam, don’t trust it.

some woman called me with a strange accent saying she was from BT tech support. i just replied, “yeah, right, you’re not,” and then ended the call.

They said they were calling from BT but it was obvious a total scam.

got a call from a woman who spoke with a foreign accent claiming she was from bt. i told her “funny enough, i work there too” (which is true). i asked where exactly she was based and she said “81 newgate street” - which i know is the bt centre in london. when i asked for her name to check the company directory, she simply said “sarah” and then disconnected the call.
