Got a call with a really posh English accent from an automated voice. They said there were a couple of big transactions on my card lately but never mentioned which bank. Pretty clear that it was a scam.

When I picked up, the person on the other end just stayed silent and then disconnected. Total waste of time. Reading through other reviews, looks like this number is linked to some kind of scam.

My UK home phone number got cloned by some scammers from the bong bonga area. Honestly, if you get a call from this, just hang up straight away and block it. Don’t trust it for a second.

I just got a call from this number. It was a guy with a strong accent, his English was really hard to follow. The only things I caught were "Amazon" and "account".

I got a message on my answerphone, as I never pick up unknown calls on my landline. It was some recorded voice saying there’d been fraud on my card with two big payments. They told me to press 1 to talk to ‘someone’. Totally dodgy, obviously a scam.

So my elderly neighbour got a call on her BT landline from a man with an Asian accent, saying someone spent £900 on her card in Vegas. Since she has dementia, I stepped in and grabbed the phone. I asked who he was, and at first he went quiet, then started laughing and said something about Visa security like it was a joke. I told him “oh, is that so?” and he just hung up. Really scary, she almost gave him her card info.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent, said he was from Amazon security. He told me someone tried buying a smartphone with my account. He wanted me to approve a notification on my computer, but I wasn’t having any of it. Hung up quick.

This is my UK number which has been cloned by bank fraud scammers in Bonga Bonga Land as payback for uncovering their scam. Please don't call back!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, telling me my account was hacked. Thing is, I don’t even have an Amazon account. Then they switched to saying my email was compromised and that Amazon had sent loads of emails about purchases. I didn’t buy it at all since I hadn’t seen any emails from them. Next, they tried to get me to log into my email so they could supposedly guide me to find these "missing" emails. I wasn’t having any of it and quickly hung up. Felt really dodgy to me.

Got a call from 01768372888 about some Amazon order email they said they sent. When I asked who they emailed, they couldn’t say and just hung up on me. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from 07168372888 on 24 Jan 2025 around 12:30. The person claimed my Amazon account got hacked and said they’d sent me an email. Then they started instructing me to press Windows key + R, open the Run box and type eventvwr. Seriously, don’t follow any of it. Just keep them on the line and don’t respond. The accent was Asian but oddly they had an English name - classic scammer move. Stay well clear, it’s risky stuff. Best not answer on your phone at all.

Got a call from a number I didn't recognise but didn't pick up. They didn't leave any voicemail either. Looked it up here afterwards and looks like it was one of those scam calls.
