Absolutely a scam! Got a call about plumbing maintenance saying they could cut down my fees, which is rubbish since we have a solid insurance policy that covers all that. I told him I was a bit confused and he got a bit annoyed, asking ‘what do you mean?’ I said I didn’t even know which company he was calling from, and he snapped back with ‘I just told you!’. I just said ‘alright, thanks’ and hung up. Pretty clear to me that it was a scam, and I reckon he’d have tried to get my personal or bank info if I’d hung around.

Got a ring from a bloke with a South Asian accent, and weirdly my BT Call Guardian flagged him, which is pretty rare since dodgy callers usually try not to get detected. I was already a bit iffy, but I picked up anyway. He started off by saying he knew my name and was offering to lower some ‘drainage damage’ fees or something like that - no clue what that’s about. I wasn’t having any of it, gave him a right telling off, and he ended up hanging up on me.
