I tried calling back but the number didn’t seem to exist anymore - they just hung up on me.

Got a call from some cold caller who wanted to speak to Mr James. I reckon with all the lockdown stuff, these scammers are just trying their luck, hoping people are stuck at home and picking up the phone. They ask for made-up names, probably hoping the person on the line will accidentally confirm their actual name. Once they have a genuine name and phone number, they can keep bothering you, or worse, try to scam you out of money. Proper dodgy.
