Classic automated message from a female voice claiming to be “Amazon”, droning on about my Premium subscription being renewed for an amount somewhere in the region of thirty or seventy quid. If I fancied halting this or had any queries, I was instructed to press some random number. I've heard this spiel so many times that I just put the receiver down as soon as I hear “Amazon” and let them squabble with silence for as long as possible before I finally disconnect. It’s worth noting that these so-called ‘Amazon scams’ account for the majority of my unsolicited calls these days.
