Got a call from 01764687443 claiming to be British Telecom, saying they spotted some dodgy files I’d downloaded and wanted to sort my Internet issues. They actually knew my middle name, which was creepy, and asked me to get on my laptop or phone. Didn’t mention who my actual provider was though, which felt off straight away. Totally a scam, no doubt. Told them that and laughed it off. They even chuckled along, trying to make it seem legit. Obviously, they were after access to my device. Nah, no way. Steer clear of this number!
