I received a call just now meant for my aunt. The bloke on the line didn’t mention which company he represented, but he seemed to know an awful lot about her. He claimed she wouldn’t be receiving any more unwanted calls, but when he asked for her debit card details, she hung up straight away. Sounds pretty dodgy to me. Definitely seems like a scam, doesn’t it?

The landline woke me up at 8:20 am, thought it might be something important from family, so I called back but no one picked up.

Got a call around 9am today from someone saying they were with BT about call blocking. They somehow already had my name, address and postcode. They asked if I paid my bill via direct debit, but I didn't give a straight answer. Then they brought up my visa debit card, saying it was about to expire (which it definitely isn’t). That’s when I ended the call. Sounds like a total scam to me.

Think it was one of those cold calls and it came through at 07.47 this morning. No message was left, and since my landline shows caller ID, the number wasn’t on my saved contacts either. I really sympathise with folks who can’t screen calls easily - makes them prime for cold callers and scammers.

I just got a call from this number early this morning, saying they had an upgrade for my caller protection. Total scam, I’m sure. They didn’t even pronounce my surname right, so definitely not a proper BT call.
