When I picked up the phone, it was all a bit eerie, just a hush with some ambient sounds. After a few moments, I gave a cheeky whistle down the line, and then a young bloke with a strong Geordie twang came on, inquiring how I was holding up this lovely morning. In a playful, doddery old geezer voice, I responded, and without any hesitation, he cut the line. Honestly, these sorts of calls are so annoying! I've absolutely no desire for a new boiler.

I keep getting these calls despite pressing the "right" button to block them! Seriously, can anyone explain what the point of the Telephone Preference Service is, if it doesn’t work for either humans or animals?

I got a call from a woman who started by giving her name and said she was calling from the funding centre. She mentioned I might qualify for a government boiler scheme. When I asked how she found my number since I'm ex-directory, she told me being ex-directory just means you’re not listed in the phone book! Suddenly, the call just dropped, and she hung up on me.

I received a rather dubious call about boiler sales, claiming to be backed by the government. They insisted on me answering a couple of questions, but as soon as I mentioned we had already replaced our boiler, they abruptly ended the conversation. Seems suspicious to me, quite likely a scam!

Got a call today at 10:42am from some bloke with a thick NE accent claiming to be from the funding centre. He said he wanted to chat about a new boiler. When I asked where he got my number, he just said it’d been given to him and then just cut me off straight away. Didn’t even get the chance to tell him I’d be reporting the call to the ICO. Proper irritating!

They fancy themselves as "The Funding Centre," yet it’s truly a ruse for boiler replacements. BT doesn’t even acknowledge the number. Totally dismissing the Telephone Preference Service! It’s downright dodgy-steer clear of this lot!

I just received a call from this number, and my husband, who struggles with hearing, picked up. Unfortunately, he couldn't make sense of what the caller was saying and ended up hanging up. I then tried to use 1471 to find out who it was, and while it provided me with the number, when I pressed 3 to get more details, I was told that the number wasn't registered. Quite the puzzling experience!

The area code belongs to Pocklington, a quaint little town not far from York. I held a conference there about five years back and found myself intrigued about who would be reaching out from that location. It’s a small locale known for its prestigious school, yet as far as I can recall, there weren't any significant businesses in the vicinity. When I returned the call, there was a lot of background clatter-it felt much like a call centre environment-but nobody actually picked up, so I decided to end the call. I searched on ‘whocallsme’, but all I found was information about the area code itself. It’s frustrating, particularly since I’m expecting a call from the hospital regarding an appointment; typically they ring me on the landline, and I’m left having to deal with nonsense callers!

What a nuisance! Every time I pick up the phone, I’m met with nothing but silence. It’s absolutely infuriating! When will these bothersome low-lifes be put to an end? I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve expressed my frustration. Is there anyone out there who genuinely gives a toss about this kind of disturbance?

I was knee-deep in the garden when the phone rang, so I made a swift run inside to pick it up. Unfortunately, it hung up before I could reach it. No message was left behind, but after checking on this site, I discovered that it was a second dodgy boiler call of the day, both originating from nonsense numbers. Picked up the call, but suddenly the line went silent. My wireless router was off as well - quite suspicious if you ask me. It appears to be a con.
