I eventually gave a little whistle down the line, and then some bloke with a Geordie twang asked me how this lovely morning was treating me. I answered back in a daft old geezer voice and he quickly ended the call. These kinds of calls are proper annoying. I don’t want or need a new boiler, cheers.

I got a call from a woman who started by giving her name and said she was calling from the funding centre. She mentioned I might qualify for a government boiler scheme. When I asked how she found my number since I'm ex-directory, she told me being ex-directory just means you’re not listed in the phone book! Suddenly, the call just dropped, and she hung up on me.

Just got a call from some lot calling themselves "The Funding Centre." Turns out it's one of those dodgy boiler replacement tricks. Tried checking the number through BT, no luck there. Also put on the TPS list but they just didn’t care. Proper scam, steering clear for sure.
