Got a call from 01754 62229 around 1:52 pm. A woman was on the line asking for someone I've never heard of. I told her she'd got the wrong number and she said sorry before I ended the call. I do have call barring set up, so I was waiting for a different call, just not from this one.

Got a call from some bloke claiming I’d been in a car crash - which is rubbish because I’ve never had one. Just ended up hanging up and blocking the number straight away.

Never come across this type of scam before. The lady claimed she wanted to help me stop all the annoying calls - ironic considering she was one herself! I just let her keep chatting while I rested the phone on the table, and after a while she just gave up and hung up. Makes me curious what she’d actually suggest if I’d let her continue. It’s quite different from the common ones where they try to access your PC. Quite the odd one!

I just didn’t answer and instead, I called 1471 back to see who it was.

Picked up and said hi but got nothing back, just silence, then the call ended. Number was hidden so I blocked it.

Got a call from 01754872270 saying he was from compliance and was ringing about nuisance calls. When I asked which firm he was with, he just cut off. The number isn’t on my account but he somehow knew my last name, which is a bit creepy since I hadn’t shared anything. I’ve blocked the number through my phone provider now.

Some bloke rang up and kept asking for my mum. When I asked who was calling, all he said was he wanted to talk to her. I said I got that but wanted to know who it was so I could hand the phone over properly. Then suddenly he shouted “Who the hell is this!” and just cut the call. Strange behaviour.

I got a call while I was out shopping today but they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. Usually when they don’t leave one, it’s some dodgy scammer hoping to trick you into giving away your bank info.
