Around 4:30 in the afternoon, I picked up the phone and said hello. The guy on the other end just started laughing, and I could hear more people chuckling in the background. I've now blocked the number and honestly, I feel much better for it.

A strong Indian accent gave away that the caller was ringing from somewhere in Asia. He said he was with the "UK Trade Register," based in Stockton on Tees. He wanted me to confirm some business details he'd supposedly got, and then have a chat about improving my online presence - websites and all that. According to him, his consultant could boost my visibility and help me attract more clients. Took nearly eight minutes before I figured out what he was on about. I politely turned down his "help."

He shouted "Hello" really loud, then asked for the business owner to do some survey. I said I wasn't up for it, and he just ended the call. Proper annoyed because I actually wanted to join in from the start!

I got a call from someone who said his name was 'Viktor' and that he was ringing from the Trade Register. His voice had a strong Indian accent, which made me doubt the name he gave. He was trying to pitch some service to boost our website visits. Strangely, he messed up our company name and then asked for our contact number - but how did he even get through if he didn’t have that info? Something definitely felt dodgy. He wasn’t truthful about his company either, shifting his story depending on what I said. Pretty obvious it was a scam.

i got a call from a dodgy number, a guy with a strong indian accent told me he was calling from the trade register and needed me, as the business owner, to do some sort of research. when i said i wasn’t the owner he keeped going and wouldn’t let me off the phone, so i just had to end the call myself.

When I said I wasn't interested and didn’t want to get involved, she got really angry and kept insisting I had already agreed to share personal info, which I definitely never did. I wouldn’t pick up if that number calls again, since apparently other people have spotted strange charges linked to it and had dodgy experiences too.
