Today I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming she worked for BT. She told me someone in Mountain View, California, was trying to get into my IP address, acting all urgent and scary. I had the feeling it was a scam, so I asked her for a number to call back and check if it was legit. She quickly said, "sorry madam, we're unable to do that," then hung up on me! I honestly don’t get how these sorts of outfits manage to get access to phone numbers in places like Skegness at all.
