Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be Cabot Finance, asking if I could talk and to press 1 on my phone. I just ended the call straight away. Seems like a scam to me since I dont have any loans or debts. Reading through other comments, I’m pretty sure I guessed right.

They keep ringing just once and then cutting off. I’ve blocked about three numbers from Cabot or whatever they call themselves, but they keep coming back. Even from numbers I don’t recognise. If they don’t stop soon, I’ll be reporting them to the TPS for sure. I’ve told them loads of times they’ve got the wrong number.

03445560225 left me a voicemail saying they were from some financial company, telling me to press a specific key on my phone. Sounds like a total scam to me, probably trying to rip you off. If this number calls you, my advice is just to block it and not bother answering.

Surely they should double check they’ve got the right digits before bothering people? I’m gonna get an answerphone tomorrow - who even still uses a landline now?!

Yeah, it's me again, the one who suggested getting an answerphone. I've double checked and these lot have rung loads while I've been out. Who on earth phones during working hours - do they reckon we're all glued to some Jeremy Kyle episode or something?! Surely it should be against the law for firms to pretend they're a debt collection agency and keep ignoring the TPS when they know full well they've got the wrong number.

I believe I received a call from some sort of debt recovery firm, possibly named Cabot or a similar title. The automated voice was quite difficult to decipher, and then suddenly the call disconnected. I didn’t see the point in attempting to return the call.
