I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent, who said his name was Daniel. He claimed there was some issue with my computer and said he was from some "Technical Helpline." He gave me a website, www.techhelpline.co.uk, but it just loads a bunch of ads, nothing legit. I decided to humour him just so I could share a warning here. First, he wanted me to open the Run command on my computer to check an error log he said showed loads of problems he could fix. Then he told me to type "iexplore one support.me" into Run, which I think is his way of getting remote access to your PC. Once connected, he can look through your files, mess around with your system, and then charge you for fake fixes. This kind of scam already cost my mum hundreds of pounds and to make things worse, she lost access to Microsoft Word. Please steer clear of these scams and if possible, report them!

Got a call from these guys earlier today, another typical scam. The bloke said his name was "James" right off the bat, then immediately claimed there was an issue with my computer. I told him there wasn't and just hung up. The annoying bit is I can't block the number because it doesn't show as private, withheld, or from abroad, and being on the TPS for yonks hasn’t stopped this nonsense at all. Thought about wasting his time but didn’t have the patience. Honestly, why don’t they get proper jobs instead?

Got a ring from someone called "Nancy" saying I needed to switch my computer on. I played along for a bit but then told her I was onto the scam and how nasty it was. After that, some bloke came on the phone, and I just hung up straight away.

So, I got a call today from someone claiming my computer had a virus. Weird thing is, last night I was on my old PC with Windows XP, and it doesn’t have any recent security updates at all. Now I’m a bit uneasy, wondering if that person actually got access to my info and that’s why they called. Do you think that could actually happen?

Got a ring from some bloke today, sounded like he was from overseas, maybe a call centre somewhere in Asia. He was going on about something wrong with my computer, but I told him I don’t own a computer. Then he switched to saying maybe a laptop, and I told him flat out I’ve never had one! After that, he just muttered “Sorry to bother you” and hung up. I had a feeling straight away it was dodgy, especially after reading a few of these forums and noticing how long it took for him to pick up after I answered. Classic scam call if you ask me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with a group called Technical Help Service or something like Helpline. They kept telling me my laptop was infected with a virus and tried to get me to do some checks. But as soon as they figured out I knew more about computers than them, they just hung up. It’s basically a cheap knockoff of those “Windows Technical Support” scams. Watch out for this number!

Some guy called up saying there was trouble with my computer. I asked him how he knew that when he hadn’t even gotten into my system, and he just said it happens to everyone. I ended the call. Then, out of nowhere, he rang me back about two minutes later.

Got a call from some tech support bloke who was trying to get me to poke around my PC while he talked me through cleaning up rubbish programs. After a bit, he kinda let slip that he’d be charging me for it and bragged about ringing “everyone” to offer the same service. What a busy fella! I said no thanks but hung about on the line for more than 6 minutes just to waste his time and maybe stop him from hassling others. Total waste of time, but felt good to mess with the scammer.

Got a call from someone saying they're a computer technician and that my computer had issues needing fixing. Total scam. The voice sounded weird, like they were using some kind of electronic disguise on it.
