I received a phone call from someone claiming to represent Openreach, saying they intended to disconnect my landline and broadband because there had been a hacking incident! I immediately recognised it as a scam and hung up. I’ve also reported the incident to BT as a phishing attempt.

Been called twice now within a couple of days, the first one coming from 01244822973. Both times, they tried the same old trick, saying there's an issue with my router. Total scam.

Had the exact same thing happen to me. As soon as I requested a BT contact number to call them back, they just hung up.

No doubt it was a robo call, it came through exactly at 9 o'clock sharp. I reckon there must be some branch in GCHQ keeping tabs on these scammers, probably based somewhere in Asia. Honestly, they should send someone like 007 to sort out the main culprits. Anyway, blocked them immediately.
