Fast forward to today, the 2nd of December, and I finally have an update stating that it’s with Royal Mail at their depot, and delivery is expected within a few days. From my experience with AliExpress over the past year, I’ve realised that when they claim an item has "arrived at destination country," it really suggests that it’s still on its way. Only when it shows as "arrived at facility" or "customs cleared" can one be confident that the item has truly made it into the UK and will likely be delivered within a week. I suspect they use the "arrived at destination country" phrase to reduce anxiety about the actual shipping method, which is probably not air freight but rather a cargo ship. Nevertheless, there's generally no need to fret, as items usually arrive on time based on the estimated delivery date (in my case, that’s the 4th of December).

I've never encountered issues like this with AE in the past, but this time around, I’m facing quite the predicament. Four items that were supposed to be sent together arrived at the Tyneside MC, and the last tracking update I received on the 12th of November indicated they were on their way to local delivery. Since then, it’s all gone quiet. The AE tracking system keeps insisting it can't deliver to this phone number. I've tried ringing this number countless times and there's been no reply. I contacted Royal Mail, and they informed me that my parcel from the seller has ended up at a delivery centre here in the UK, where they've generated a tracking number. This will then be relayed to Royal Mail for them to deliver it to me. I checked the tracking details on AliExpress, and it instructed me to ring this number, with the last update showing as 5th November. I've dropped a message to the seller to push for some answers, otherwise I’ll have to initiate a dispute. The frustrating thing is that it's a combined package, so due to this mishandled delivery, my two other parcels from different sellers are now caught up in this mess for no good reason at all!

After leaving it for a bit, I decided to check the Royal Mail tracker and thankfully, my items were indeed on their way. It appears that the tracking system on AliExpress doesn’t integrate with Royal Mail’s details. Luckily, mine arrived today, so my advice would be to hang tight; your order is likely on its way as well! 😊

I'm currently on tenterhooks for two deliveries. One has been marooned since the 25th of October, while the other has been languishing since the 5th of November. Oddly enough, the parcel that was stuck since the 5th has just had an update on the Royal Mail site, confirming they've received it. As for the other one, it remains a mystery... In line with what others have mentioned, I’m dealing with a delivery from Ali Express. According to their tracking information dated 25th October 2021, it states, "Received by the delivery company. For further details, please ring 01753 484554". Unfortunately, Royal Mail is unable to assist since they've yet to receive the parcel. If I can't get through on the phone, it seems like it might be in limbo. I suppose I’ll just hang tight until the delivery period expires and then I’ll lodge a non-delivery claim with Ali.

After a couple of days, I decided to hold tight, and lo and behold, my tracking info changed! It now states that Royal Mail has it at the main sorting facility, and delivery should be on the cards shortly. Just holding on until it arrives.
