Got a call from someone claiming to be from o2 wanting info about my phone account. When I told them I'm not an o2 customer, they suddenly said they're from Tesco and mentioned a few other firms as well. They couldn’t even give the name on the account, so it was obviously a dodgy scam.

Some chap rang me and didn’t bother with a proper introduction, straightaway diving into a conversation about something called "the EE mobile phone account," which, for the record, I don’t possess. He was keen to ascertain if I was the person handling that account. It felt awfully dodgy, likely a phishing attempt trying to catch me out with some yes-no answers or personal details. I've since blocked the number.
