I received a call from someone claiming to be from O2, trying to persuade me to upgrade my phone plan. When I inquired about their location, they mentioned "South Africa." I found this a bit odd, as I’ve been retired from O2 for two years now and I’m quite sure they don’t operate there. I also mentioned that my calls were being "monitored for police purposes," which seemed to throw them off. Suddenly, the line went dead! How curious!

This number rings me pretty much every weekday, and my phone usually marks it as 'Possible Scam'. I finally picked up today and a lady told me she was from O2, offering a better deal than my existing provider. I told her my provider is actually O2, so I was suspicious she was legit.
