Got a call about some government plan for changing boilers - felt like a scam to me, so I just blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from an unknown number outside my area on Wednesday, 14 August 2024, at about 11.48am. The moment I picked up, the person on the other end just hung up straight away. Never seen this number before.

I had a feeling it was dodgy as soon as I answered because there was a weird delay on the line. A guy with an Indian accent, said his name was David, and he called me by my name, which freaked me out a bit. Then he said he was ringing from the government about some scheme. I didn’t hang about, just told him no thanks and asked him to stop phoning me.

Today at 3.33pm, on the 13th of August 2024, I got a call on my landline from 01752981672. I've no idea who it could be, especially since I don’t know anyone with a number from Plymouth. If it’s some kind of call centre, they’re definitely ignoring the TPS rules because we’re registered on there.

Got a call on my landline from this number, which is weird since I've never shared it over the 30 years I've had it. It's pretty much just used for the internet now. I reckon they must've got it from some old phone directories that got sold on after they went digital. I chose not to pick up, but it kept ringing for ages. I'm pretty sure it's just some scammer as those are the only ones who bother calling that line.

Somebody rang and claimed that if my heating system was over 20 years old and I was retired, their company could swap it out for free thanks to a government programme. I told them to just send me something in the post since they already knew my details. Then the person tried to put me through to their supervisor, but I ended the call.

After a couple minutes, the call just dropped silent, no sounds or words at all. Guess it was some sort of phone dialler.
