It appears that I've fallen prey to a dubious company that claims to provide stairlifts for the elderly and those with disabilities. They insist on upfront payments, usually in the realm of thousands, and then they concoct a myriad of excuses to evade actually delivering the product. Soon after the transaction, they become impossible to reach, ignoring both calls and messages. The person I've been in contact with regarding my order is Daniel Carrington, and I handed over £1100 in advance. They operate under the name CPC Stairlifts based in Plymouth, Devon.

It's hard to fathom that these remarks are genuine. A rather small chap called Mr Adams, who quite clearly must be flying solo and lacking in companionship.

On the 3rd of November 2009, Trading Standards received a response from CPC indicating that they planned to reimburse Mrs Adams her entire deposit by the 20th of November 2009. However, just recently, I received a cheque from CPC, successfully returning the full amount that I had originally paid to them. A big thank you to CPC for that! We'll provide another update once that cheque has cleared completely. According to CPC, the stairlift that was meant to be provided would have adequately met our mother's requirements.

I'd like to express my gratitude to the CCP for successfully concluding the test with the banking system. Our mother was absolutely delighted to see the funds restored to her account. It appears that the CCP had every intention of fulfilling the transaction and adhering to the lift, but unfortunately, the holiday period did lead to some delays and a fair bit of frustration.

Cheers, CPC! I’m pleased to say that the cheque has cleared smoothly through the bank, and our mum was absolutely chuffed to see the funds returned to her account. It seems clear that CPC always intended to follow through with the installation of the stairlift, but a few delays and holiday breaks did lead to some exasperation along the way.

A little update for you all. I’ve now brought Bristol Care & Repair into the mix and, if needed, their legal team as well, all in the hopes of recovering my funds. Once CPC decides to refund my money (which actually belongs to my mother), I’ll make sure to update this site. At that point, we can confirm whether these individuals are truly deceitful or merely a bunch of bunglers.

Update 13/12/14: They've begun requesting extra funds even though we've already settled the original cost! Just let us be, will you?!

It appears that this dubious company is trying to peddle lifts targeted at the elderly and those with disabilities. They seem to require hefty deposits, sometimes even in the thousands, and then concoct all manner of excuses when customers are left waiting for their stairlifts to arrive. Once they have your money, good luck getting them on the phone or responding to messages. The chap I've been dealing with is a certain Daniel Carrington, and I forked out £1,100 upfront. They operate under the name Elevators PDA based in Plymouth, Devon. Quite the alarming situation, I must say!
