Got a call from some energy saving lot offering free boiler checks and loft insulation. I told them the housing association sorts that out for us, but they said it was only for homeowners and then just cut me off. I reckon the best thing to do is to say your place is rented - nothing else seems to stop these scammers.

Don’t bother just blocking these scam callers, it doesn’t reduce the number of dodgy calls we get at all. The best thing you can do is report them to the police’s online system. There’s a guide on how to do it about 8 comments down. We all need to step up and report these scams - they’re not just annoying, some vulnerable folks actually lose money because of them. The only proper way to help crack down on these scammers over time is by feeding info into that police database.

This number keeps ringing me on my mobile. When I picked up the other day, I didn’t say a word but could hear some sort of office hustle and bustle in the background. Strangely, no one said anything and then the call just ended abruptly. It’s been happening quite frequently now.
