I’m pretty sure it was Derriford hospital calling. I didn’t pick up though as it was 7:10 in the evening. If it really was something urgent, they’d ring again, right? Not some dodgy scam, just the hospital’s proper number. Derriford for sure.

I’m marking this as harassment for a few reasons. They don’t even say who’s ringing and then want you to press a number to go on with the call. Loads of dodgy callers use this trick so they can get you to agree to crazy high charges for the call. If you won’t tell me who you are, I’m never picking up!!

Spoke to the main desk at Derriford Hospital and they said its just a reminder system for upcoming appointments. I’d been away a few days and noticed 27 missed automated calls which was a bit stressful before I worked out what was going on. The number showing on my landline was 0175243800.

I’ll have to ring the hospital myself to sort it out, as I haven’t received any letter about it. It was a call from a hospital booking team but it's pointless for me as I'm deaf. They should contact me through TypeTalk so I can follow conversations on a screen, but they never bother, they just ring my number direct.
