BT are not allowed to block calls, particularly ones from abroad, but using a call guardian can help you cut them off. At least it's a bit of a win knowing these morons end up footing the bill for the call. Even if it’s just a tiny amount, it all counts in the end.

My mum, who isn’t that great on the phone, got a call from someone claiming to be from Benefits UK. I grabbed the phone just in time. They asked if I was my mum, but I said no. She then tried to explain who she was but ended up just hanging up on me. So annoying dealing with these lot!

I’ve had this number ringing me all the time, even after using BT Call Guardian to block it once. They just keep trying and it’s driving me mad. Honestly, I feel like something should be done about these annoying spam calls. Luckily, BT Call Guardian helps by blocking unknown numbers, so it only rings twice before telling them no one’s picking up. Still, it’s a bit annoying that the phone has to ring a couple of times before the block kicks in.

Got a call from 017522622771 this morning around 10.15. The voice on the other end was an Asian lady, but her strong accent made it tough to catch her name. She claimed to be calling from Benefits UK and asked if I could answer some questions. I told her I don’t do unpaid surveys for random callers, then she just hung up on me. Proper annoying!

I’m curious to find out the source of these calls. In the past month, I’ve ended up blocking nearly a dozen different numbers. The very first time I picked up, it was some aggressive woman trying to get my card info. Since then, I just let the answerphone pick up unless I’m expecting a call. None of them bother leaving a message, so I looked them up here. Most of the time, it’s just annoying spam, so I block straight away. The calls have come from all over, from Plymouth right up to the Isle of Skye. What a waste of time, really. Seems like this is a problem across the whole country.
