Just a few hours back, got a recorded call from some woman saying she was with BT internet, telling me my system was corrupted and to press 1 to chat with an engineer (obviously, I didn’t). I have zero dealings with BT internet, and the message was a classic scare-tactic that’s all too common nowadays. I ended the call and blocked the number, though I doubt it’ll do much good since these scammers seem to spoof numbers at will without any oversight from the phone companies, which is pretty disgraceful.
