Some bloke with a South Asian accent rang me saying there was an issue with my Amazon account and I should look at my emails. I mentioned I have a couple of email addresses and asked which one he meant. He just said ‘the one connected to your account’. So I asked him, ‘Which account exactly?’ and then he just cut me off.

Caller was really hard to make out but told me to look at my emails about some £400 payment linked to Amazon, sounded like the typical scam rubbish. Definitely dodgy.

I saw the number start with 0174 and knew straight away it wasn’t from around here, so I just let it ring out without picking up. Didn’t recognise it at all.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Amazon, saying there was an issue with my account. They wanted me to open a link in an email to "fix" it, but I had a bad feeling and didn’t click anything. Sounds like a scam trying to get control of your computer. Stay safe, folks!

No voicemail left on my landline, pretty sure it was a scam call.

On 26/2/24, I got a call on my landline from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying I owed around £700 from Devon. They started asking for details I never share. Then they wanted to talk to a particular person at my address. I put the call through but we ended it once the caller started getting annoyed. Pretty clear it was a scam since I only ever get dodgy calls on my landline!

Like someone else mentioned before, the bloke had an accent and there was loads of noise in the background. He claimed that there was an attempt to purchase a knife using my Amazon account.

Some bloke with a funny accent was making loads of noise in the background and called asking for me by name. I was a bit iffy, so I told him she’s not here and asked if he wanted to leave a message. Then he goes on asking if I could open her computer, which sounded totally dodgy to me. Pretty sure it was a scam.
