I got a suspicious text saying my Amazon Prime subscription had expired and I’d been billed £95 for renewal. The thing is, I’ve never signed up for Amazon Prime, not even once. What really caught me off guard was that the call seemed to come from a number with my area code, so I almost picked up because it looked local. I’m usually not one to answer unknown numbers, but this one tricked me. Of course, I never pressed any buttons or followed the instructions in the message.
