My phone buzzed and my call screening kicked in. The person on the other end never got past the hold from my system. Since they didn’t leave any message, it’s hard to say much about them. I used to get loads of annoying calls, so this setup has been a lifesaver, only letting through people I know. If someone unfamiliar rings, they have to say who they are before the call goes through. The TPS didn’t really cut it for me because those pesky cold callers always seemed to find a sneaky way around it.

Got a call claiming they were from the telephone preference service, saying it was on behalf of British Telecom. They wanted to "extend" my contract that apparently ends soon in 2022. They had my name and postcode right, but the address they gave was incorrect. The woman on the phone had a thick Indian or Pakistani accent, I think? It felt a bit dodgy, so I just hung up. Really made me feel uneasy.

I got a phone call from someone claiming they need to verify my card's expiry date to keep my services running and mentioned blocking numbers. I wasn't sure who they were, so I ended the call. They rang me again shortly after, insisting they still needed to confirm the expiry date. I hung up once more, and they said they’d ring me back in an hour. Not sure if it's legit or a scam.
