Got a call from a number I didn’t know, so I picked up. The call cut off right in the middle of the message. Bit odd really.

I got a call from 01745407448 and the bloke was proper rude, said something about my landline and stopping cold calls. When I said this one was a cold call, he just got worse. I asked to speak to his manager, but he just told me to hang up. I pointed out that he was the one who called me and should hang up to end it, but he claimed it was an international call and I'd be charged if I stayed on. So I just put the phone down and could hear him swearing before he finally ended the call. What a nerve!

I got a call about a boiler maintenance plan that was supposedly cheaper than the one I already have. Problem is, I don’t have any contract at all. Then the guy asked which bank I used to pay bills from, acted like he was checking it, and claimed I was authorised to pay. When I rang the number he gave me, it was just a recorded message directing me to get in touch online, saying someone would respond. Seems dodgy to me, so I’m planning to report it to the proper authorities.

Picked up but all I got was dead silence, no one there. Sounds like one of those dodgy scam calls that folks keep warning about.
