On the 11th of October 2023, at around midday, we received a peculiar message on our landline from the number 01744 894 880, even though we're ex-directory. The caller brought up an alarming £300 transaction on Amazon and another hefty sum of £1100 involving Western Union. We haven't made any such purchases, mind you! They urged us to press one if we wished to respond, but we thought better of it and opted to ignore the request entirely.

Some bloke said he was calling from my bank about dodgy activity on my account and told me to press 1 or 2. Seriously, don’t ever do that!

I got a voicemail that sounded like it was regarding some credit card activity linked to Amazon and Western Union. Quite suspicious if you ask me!
