I dialled 1471 to get the number, then pressed 3 to get a callback. I waited on the line for like 5 mins and it was dead silent except for 3 recorded messages saying my call was important and to stay on the line. The first message lasted over a minute with nothing but silence after.

Got a call from an automated woman claiming to be from something like Cambridge Health, which seemed strange since the number’s actually registered to St Helens, up north. Even weirder, they said it wasn’t urgent (so why bother calling at all?). Then she mentioned they’d ring back but said I could stop future calls by ringing the same number. Feels dodgy - probably a scam - maybe even risky. Best steer clear of it. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got an answerphone, it was an automatic call, i didn’t pick up, then this usa-type robotic voice started. Even tho i didn’t pick up, my landline said “answered call”. switched phone on then off real quick to stop it. The voice said something like “no need to answer this call” but then gave a number to ring back, which I missed cos i hung up too fast. I think the area code near mine is dodgy, looks fake.
